Secret Stairs #31: Franklin Hills West—Radio-Prospect Loop, 2.7 miles, 684 steps.

I loved this walk through East Hollywood, the oldest film-making section of the city. We began at the former KCET Studios on Sunset, the longest continuing producing studios in Hollywood. Built in 1912, the site changed hands many times, including to Monogram Pictures where the old Charlie Chan films were shot in the 1930s. Steep roads and killer staircases took us high into the hills behind, under a clear blue sky with a spectacular, panoramic view from the planetarium to downtown and across the city to Westwood+. Really fun—one of my favorite outings.
